Virtual Preparation
Let's prepare for your Virtual appointment!
1.
Receiving Myo Kit
After forms are completed, we will mail you a Myo Kit for your virtual appointments.
2.
Taking Photos (Must be submitted at least three days prior)

Camera (Cell phone or digital camera)

Flashlight (Use flash or flashlight to get clear images and avoid shadows. Use a well lit area with natural light.)

Check Retractor
- Please use the photo guide to take the required photos for your coach to review prior to the evaluation. For certain photos, use the clear plastic cheek retractors included in your Myo Kit to hold your mouth open (as demonstrated in the photo guide). You may want to apply lip balm or take retract one side at a time for comfort. For guidance, refer to the video here: YouTube Guide to Using Cheek Retractors.
3.
Uploading Photos or Videos
Please upload required photos as referenced above or share videos that could aid in our assessment. To do this securely, you can upload them directly to your Simple Practice files or email us a private Google Drive link to: admin@thebreathewellgroup.com. This could include:

Photos of relevant physical features using the provided cheek retractors as stated above.

Videos demonstrating certain behaviors, such as eating or sleeping that may help our team.

4.
Appointment Requirements

A parent or guardian should be present on virtual call, for anyone under 18, unless otherwise approved.

Ensure your computer has an active camera and microphone, or download the Simple Practice Telehealth App if using a tablet or mobile device. Apple and Google

Gather necessary items for telehealth appointment:

For ages 2 or older, please have the foods and water listed in Picnic Food document ready for evaluation.

A mirror will be needed during evaluation, preferably with a stand. (Will be needed with all appointments.)

Myo Kit that was mailed to you. (Will be needed with all appointments.)

5.
Receiving Your Link
You will usually receive your Virtual link via email 10–15 minutes before your appointment.
Choose between:

Using your computer (with camera and microphone) or
-
Downloading the Simple Practice Telehealth App to your device
6.
Waiting Area and Check-in
We recommend logging in a few minutes early to settle into the virtual waiting area. Feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns beforehand.

Setting Up:

Use a space with good lighting and a stable internet connection or hotspot.

Sit comfortably with good posture, feet on the floor, and minimize distractions.
